KUALA LUMPUR – Caltex Malaysia today said it is working to ensure RON95 petrol supply, following disruptions at some of its petrol stations around the Klang Valley and Selangor two days ago.
The supply disruptions were caused by “unexpected vessel berth congestion at the port, which delayed our scheduled deliveries,” the company said in a statement shared on its Facebook page.
Restoration of normal supply is expected by April 14, Caltex Malaysia added, and it is working with retail partners to prioritise deliveries and minimise downtime.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the company said of the disruptions experienced at certain petrol stations on April 11 and 12.
Three days ago, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd also apologised to customers for temporary fuel shortages at some of its stations, assuring that supply will be restored swiftly.
Shell Malaysia also cautioned that sudden peaks in demand may occasionally result in shortfalls at certain locations.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh has been reported saying that Malaysia’s fuel supply remains “stable and sufficient” amid the on-going US-Israel conflict with Iran that has seen the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, choking oil supply to many countries.
The government has also said that it has enough fuel stocks until May. – April 13, 2026
