KUALA LUMPUR – A former special aide to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok is set to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Monday over an alleged bribery case linked to a community project.
Sources said the individual is scheduled to appear at the court at approximately 8.30am, local media reported.
Earlier reports indicated that two men, including the former aide, were remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly requesting and receiving bribes totalling around RM500,000. The money is believed to have been offered in exchange for facilitating the approval of funds for a community initiative.
The suspects, both in their 30s, were reportedly detained around 9.30pm on 5 March last year while attending a MACC interview at its headquarters.
The alleged offence is said to have occurred in 2024, involving the approval of RM1.5 million for a project supplying interactive smart boards to several schools in Kuala Lumpur.
“Both suspects are believed to have committed the act in 2024 in exchange for approving the fund application for a community project worth approximately RM1.5 million, involving the supply of interactive smart boards to several schools in Kuala Lumpur,” a source said.
“Investigations will also focus on the supply aspect to verify whether the items were received in accordance with the quantity and specifications by the schools involved,” the source added. – May 10, 2026
