KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Moto3 rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli after the Malaysian youngster secured a landmark victory at the Czech Moto3 Grand Prix at the Brno Circuit on Sunday.
“Congratulations Hakim Danish! The journey is still long, carry on with more wins,” he posted on X.
The win marks a significant breakthrough for the 18-year-old AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider, who ended Malaysia’s decade-long wait for a Moto3 victory. The last Malaysian success in the category came through Khairul Idham Pawi, who won at the 2016 Argentina and German Grands Prix.
Hakim Danish delivered a commanding performance at the Creditas Autodrom Brno, crossing the line in 33:34.26 after a hard-fought race in a tightly contested field. Spain’s Brian Uriarte (Red Bull KTM Ajo) finished second, while Maximo Quiles of the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team took third place.
The victory was made more remarkable given the challenges he faced earlier in the weekend. According to updates from ZKRacing, the Terengganu-born rider was forced to start from 14th on the grid after receiving a “Slow Sector” penalty during qualifying.
Despite the setback, Hakim Danish fought his way through the pack to secure his second podium finish of the season, following a third-place finish at the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello last month.
The result signals his growing stature on the world stage and cements his status as one of Malaysia’s most promising young talents in motorcycle racing. – June 21, 2026
