Johor polls: Anwar unveils PH line-up tonight

The candidate announcement ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8 pm tonight at Bukit Gambir Extreme Park field, thus completing the entire list of PH candidates that will be contested in the election

JOHOR BAHRU – Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to announce the full list of 56 candidates for the coalition for the 16th Johor State Election.

The candidate announcement ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8 pm tonight at Bukit Gambir Extreme Park field, thus completing the entire list of PH candidates that will be contested in the election.

PH’s top leadership, including DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, are among those scheduled to be present tonight, in addition to the coalition’s machinery and supporters.

So far, PH through DAP has announced five candidates, namely lawyer Chu Poh Yee (Mengkibol), private secretary to the Deputy Finance Minister Nor Zulaila Abd Ghani (Tiram), Johor DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) chief Lee Wern Yiing (Johor Jaya), former incumbent Wong Bor Yang (Senai) and special assistant to Kulai Member of Parliament Mohamad Shafwan Ani (Bukit) Permai.

PKR has announced Arthur Chiong Sen Sern who will defend the Bukit Batu state seat.

In a post on social media yesterday, Anwar said the state deserves a leadership that is integrity-based, credible and works hard for the progress of the state and the well-being of the people.

The Election Commission (EC) has set June 27 as nomination day, July 7 as early voting day and July 11 as polling day. – 22 Jun, 2026
