KUALA LUMPUR — A grim discovery jolted Bandar Sunway today when police found the body of a foreign woman, believed to be a student at a private higher education institution, inside a condominium unit.

Petaling Jaya deputy district police chief M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said the district police headquarters received a distress call at 11.03 am before a team rushed to the scene.

“Initial examination revealed several injuries on the victim’s body. A foreign man in his 20s was arrested at the scene to assist investigations,” he said in a statement.

The forensic team seized several items believed connected to the case. The victim’s body has been sent to University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for post-mortem, expected tomorrow, to determine the exact cause of death.

Police confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Hussin urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Surianti Lataera at 013-3352547 or approach the nearest police station.

“The public is advised against issuing statements or spreading unverified material on any platform to avoid speculation that could disrupt investigations,” he added. – June 24, 2026
