PUTRAJAYA – A total of 96,013 Form Six students nationwide are set to receive a financial boost, following an allocation of RM14.4 million under the 2026 Early Schooling Aid (BAP) initiative.

According to the Ministry of Education (MOE), the distribution encompasses both newly enrolled and existing pre-university students.

Out of the total figure, 52,810 new Form Six students across 616 Form Six Centres (PTEs) will each receive a one-off cash assistance of RM150 this year.

Distribution timeline

The ministry stated that the disbursement process for the newly registered cohort is already underway.

“The distribution of the Early Schooling Aid to new Form Six students is being carried out by the Form Six Centres from June 28 to July 27,” the MOE said in a statement today.

“The MOE is continuing the distribution of the Early Schooling Aid to new Form Six students who enrolled on June 8, following the approval to extend the aid to Form Six students from last year.”

Easing burdens, elevating Form 6 education

The MOE emphasized that expanding the scope of the BAP to include Form Six students is a deliberate effort to cushion the economic impact on Malaysian families.

The ministry added that the extension of the aid reflected the Madani Government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and guardians in meeting their children’s schooling needs.

“The initiative also demonstrates the government’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening Form Six education,” it said.

The Early Schooling Aid (BAP) was initially introduced to alleviate the financial pressures faced by parents at the start of the school academic year.

Historically targeted at primary and secondary school students from low-to-middle-income households, the cash assistance has undergone several expansions under successive budgets to widen its safety net.

The inclusion of Form Six students—who often face higher costs for reference materials, specialized assignments, and pre-university preparations—was approved last year to ensure that post-secondary students are not left behind in the government’s welfare distribution.

Under the current Madani framework, the aid continues to serve as a vital financial relief mechanism distributed directly through schools and designated educational centers. – July 9, 2026
