KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional (PN) has concluded several key preparations for the upcoming Negri Sembilan state election, including discussions on seat allocations among its component parties.

PN Supreme Council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan said the matters were finalised during a special Supreme Council meeting held at the PAS headquarters today, chaired by PN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

Wan Saiful said it was his first meeting as a member of the PN Supreme Council, describing the appointment as a significant responsibility in advancing the coalition’s political agenda and serving the people.

“This is the first time I have attended this meeting as a member of the Perikatan Nasional Supreme Council. It is a great trust and responsibility that I carry for the continuation of the party’s struggle and for the people,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He said the meeting reached several important and strategic decisions ahead of the Negri Sembilan election, including negotiations on the distribution of state seats among PN’s component parties.

“The meeting today, chaired by Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, has finalised several important and strategic decisions specifically to face the Negri Sembilan state election, including negotiations on the distribution of DUN seats among PN component parties involved, namely PAS, Gerakan, Wawasan and MIPP,” he added.

Wan Saiful said the use of the PN logo during the state election was also discussed at the meeting.

He added that PN candidates contesting in Negri Sembilan would carry the responsibility of safeguarding public welfare, advancing development efforts and maintaining harmony in the state’s multiracial society.

“The participation of Perikatan Nasional candidates in this Negeri Sembilan state election carries a great mission, which is to defend the welfare of the people, raise the state development agenda and protect the harmony of the multiracial society in Negri Sembilan in particular and Malaysia in general,” he said.

Wan Saiful also urged PN’s election machinery and supporters to remain committed in supporting the coalition as it prepares for the state polls. – July 16, 2026
