KUALA LUMPUR – The Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has issued a Cease Operations Notice against NSO Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which operates Network School, effective tomorrow after finding breaches involving licensing requirements and premises usage regulations under the local authority’s jurisdiction.
In a statement today, MBIP said the decision was made during its Special Full Meeting following a review of activities conducted by the company at Forest City, Iskandar Puteri, Bernama reported.
The council said inspections and monitoring exercises were carried out on July 12, 14, 19 and 20 to assess Network School’s operations.
For the premises at P-01-11, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, Pulau Satu Forest City, 81550 Johor Bahru, MBIP identified the offence as operating without a valid business licence.
“For the premises located at P-01-11, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, Pulau Satu Forest City, 81550 Johor Bahru, the identified offence is operating without a business licence.
“Accordingly, action under the Cease Operations Notice is taken pursuant to By-Law 3(1) of the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws, MBIP 2018,” the statement read.
MBIP also announced action against another premise at P-01-12, Teluk Bintang, Jalan Forest City 5, Pulau Satu Forest City, involving the revocation of its business premise and advertisement licence.
The council said the move was taken after discovering that the premise was being used for business activities different from the approved purpose, which was limited to a management office.
“The licence revocation action is taken under the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws, MBIP 2018,” it said.
MBIP added that the billboard displayed at the location also did not correspond with the approved application.
As a result, a Notice to Comply with Advertising Licence Conditions will be issued under By-Law 18 of the Advertisement By-Laws (MDJBT) 1982, in accordance with Section 107(2) of the Local Government Act 1976.
The local authority stressed that all businesses operating within its administrative boundaries must adhere to existing laws and licensing requirements.
It said compliance was essential to safeguard public interest, maintain order and uphold the integrity of the local government system.
“MBIP will not compromise and will take prosecution action if the company continues to carry out activities contrary to the law,” according to the statement.
Earlier, allegations circulated on social media claiming that Network School’s presence in Forest City was linked to an Israeli agenda to establish a foothold in Malaysia through cryptocurrency investments. – July 21, 2026
