KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Malaysia Airlines have strengthened their long-standing partnership with a fresh three-year extension that will see the national carrier remain the Southern Tigers’ official airline partner until 2029, while introducing exclusive travel privileges for the club’s supporters.
JDT announced the renewal in a statement today following a document exchange ceremony at the club’s headquarters at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
The agreement was formalised by JDT chief operating officer and technical director Alistair Edwards and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) president and group chief executive officer Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar.
Also present were MAG Airlines Business chief executive officer Bryan Foong and JDT operations manager Sukri Mosman.

Earlier, the MAG delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, at Istana Pasir Pelangi, where both parties discussed the continued collaboration between Malaysia Airlines and JDT.
Nasaruddin described JDT as a benchmark for sporting excellence, saying the renewed partnership reflected Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to fostering national pride while connecting Malaysians through sport and travel.
“We are pleased to extend our journey alongside JDT as their official airline partner. JDT has set a benchmark for success, driven by world-class discipline and an unwavering winning mindset.
“As the national carrier, our role goes beyond flying passengers — it is about powering national pride. Through partnerships such as this, we strengthen our connection with Malaysians and create opportunities to engage with communities through the shared experiences of sport and travel.
“We remain committed to supporting Malaysian sports, championing initiatives that bring people closer together and showcase the energy and ambition of Malaysia to the world,” he said.
Edwards said the collaboration had grown beyond a traditional sponsorship, with both organisations united by a shared pursuit of excellence.
“Our relationship with Malaysia Airlines has evolved into far more than a sponsorship. It is a partnership between two major brands founded on a shared pursuit of excellence, consistency and pride.
“Over the past four years, Malaysia Airlines has stood alongside JDT as our official airline partner, supporting the club’s ambitions both on and off the pitch as we continue to raise standards.
“We are delighted to extend this successful collaboration and continue building for the future together. We look forward to reaching even greater heights and strengthening our relationship in the years ahead,” he said.
Beyond supporting JDT’s domestic and international travel requirements through Malaysia Airlines’ extensive network, the renewed partnership will also focus on fan engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the supporter experience beyond matchdays.
As part of the collaboration, JDT supporters will enjoy exclusive travel promotions, including discounts of up to 10 per cent on eligible Malaysia Airlines flights by using the promotional code FYXMYFC.
The offer is valid for bookings made from now until Sept 30, with travel available until Dec 31. – July 30, 2026
