KUALA LUMPUR – Eighteen pilots from HAS International Sdn Bhd (HAS) have been recognised by Airbus Helicopters after achieving significant flight hour milestones on the Airbus H175, reflecting the company’s expanding expertise in supporting Malaysia’s offshore oil and gas sector.
The pilots received recognition for completing 500, 1,000 and 1,500 flight hours on the Airbus H175 during HAS Safety Week 2026.
The achievement comes slightly more than three years after HAS introduced the Airbus H175 into its Sarawak operations, where the helicopter is used for offshore crew transportation and emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) services for seven energy companies, including PETRONAS Carigali, Shell Malaysia, TotalEnergies, Mubadala Energy, ENEOS, PTTEP and SK Earthon.
HAS managing director Hasery Bakar said the recognition represented more than individual pilot experience, reflecting the company’s operational capabilities developed through extensive training, disciplined maintenance practices and a strong safety culture.
“Our operating environment demands far more than flying hours. Every day, our teams operate in one of Malaysia’s busiest oil and gas region, supporting seven world-class energy companies, all of which retains high standards of operational expectations, assurance standards and safety requirements,” he said.
Hasery said maintaining these standards required highly skilled personnel and an unwavering commitment to safety.
He added that the recognition also highlighted the collective effort of the teams supporting HAS’ flight operations.
“This recognition by Airbus is therefore a testament not only to the experience accumulated by our pilots, but also to the strength of the system that supports them — from our engineers and technicians to our operations, safety and support teams,” he said.
HAS said it has developed one of the region’s most experienced Airbus H175 pilot communities since becoming Malaysia’s first operator of the helicopter in 2023.
The company added that it remains committed to developing skilled offshore helicopter professionals while upholding the operational standards required by major international energy companies.
Airbus Helicopters Malaysia managing director Axel de Pascal said the pilots’ achievements demonstrated HAS’ professionalism and dedication towards safe offshore helicopter operations.
“These accomplishments reflect the high standards of professionalism, operational discipline and safety demonstrated by HAS in supporting offshore helicopter missions,” he said.
The awards were presented during HAS Safety Week 2026, held from July 14 to 17 with the theme “Respond Right, Learn Always”. The event brought together employees, clients, regulators and industry partners to reinforce safety leadership and encourage the exchange of industry best practices.
Reiterating the company’s safety commitment, Hasery said safety remains central to every aspect of HAS’ operations.
