KUALA LUMPUR – Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) is set for a leadership transition after Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun stepped down as chairman, ending his 14-month tenure at the helm of the club.
NSFC chief executive officer Faliq Firdaus confirmed that the club had received Aminuddin’s resignation letter, with his tenure officially running from June 2025 until the end of July 2026.
Faliq expressed the club’s appreciation for Aminuddin’s contributions, describing his leadership as an important chapter in NSFC’s growth and efforts to strengthen its standing in Malaysian football.
“NSFC would like to record our appreciation and gratitude to Aminuddin for his service, contributions and unwavering support throughout his tenure as chairman.
“The entire NSFC family, including our loyal supporters such as UltraJang, recognise his commitment to leading and developing football in Negeri Sembilan,” he said at a press conference today.
He added that Aminuddin’s leadership had helped strengthen the club’s reputation and establish Negeri Sembilan as a respected competitor in the domestic game.
Following his resignation, the chairman’s role will be assumed on an interim basis by Tunku Besar Tampin, Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri, who also serves as president of the Negeri Sembilan Football Association (PBNS).
“His Royal Highness will lead NSFC until further announcements are made,” Faliq said.
Under Aminuddin’s leadership, the Hobin Jang Hobin finished seventh in last season’s Super League and reached the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Cup.
His departure comes in the wake of a major political shift in Negeri Sembilan following the 2026 state election, in which Pakatan Harapan lost power, paving the way for a new state administration led by the Barisan Nasional-Perikatan Nasional coalition.
The change in government ended PH’s administration in the state, which had secured a two-thirds majority in the 2023 state election.
The former Menteri Besar, who had represented Sikamat for several terms, contested the Linggi state seat after leaving his traditional stronghold.
However, the move proved unsuccessful as Aminuddin lost the contest, ending his tenure as a state assemblyman and bringing his time as Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar to a close. – August 6, 2026
