KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Embassy in Doha has urged all Malaysians residing in or traveling through Qatar to monitor official announcements closely following a sharp escalation in regional tensions.

In an advisory published on its Facebook page on Wednesday, diplomatic officials advised citizens to stay informed on local security notices and ensure continuous awareness of evolving developments in West Asia.

Travelers intending to fly out of or transit through Qatar were also advised to double-check their flight schedules directly with airlines to avoid potential travel disruptions.

The advisory follows reports of fresh military strikes launched by the United States against Iranian targets on Tuesday, which triggered retaliatory attacks by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against US assets in the region. – Sept 2, 2026
