KUALA LUMPUR — Billboard-charting artist Jackson Wang has signed a management deal with Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by JAY-Z, as he begins a new chapter with the release of his single “Thank You”.
The official music video for the track, directed by Ojun Kwon, was filmed using the new iPhone 18 Pro and features real-life Jackson Wang fans from around the world.
“We’re excited to have Jackson Wang join our family here at Roc Nation,” founder Jay-Z said in a press release.
“He’s an incredible artist with a very special drive, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.”
The partnership brings together Roc Nation with one of Asia’s most prominent global artists, who has spent the past decade building a career across Eastern and Western music markets.
Jackson made history as the first solo Chinese artist to enter the Billboard 200 chart with his debut album MIRRORS, and later became the first Chinese solo artist to headline Coachella’s main stage, returning to the festival for three consecutive years.
The “Thank You” music video presents a stripped-back portrait of Jackson in black and white as he reflects on different stages of his life and expresses gratitude to the fans and supporters who have been part of his journey.
For Jackson, the song represents a celebration of the different eras of his career so far while marking a new chapter of creativity and music.
The singer invited fans worldwide to participate in the project, receiving applications from more than 80 countries. Thirty fans from China, the United States, Australia, Mexico, the United Kingdom and other countries were selected to appear in the video.
Each character, outfit and scene in the video represents a person, memory or chapter that has shaped Jackson’s life — from his early years in gymnastics and fencing, to childhood friendships, his music career and his latest milestone with Roc Nation.
The release follows a successful year for Jackson, who continued his MAGIC MAN 2 World Tour across North America and Latin America, including sold-out performances at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
His album MAGIC MAN 2 debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart and placed him in the Top 15 of the Billboard Artist 100.
In July, Jackson was named the first global ambassador for the International Fencing Federation (FIE), highlighting the sport he competed in before pursuing a music career.
He will continue his MAGIC MAN 2 World Tour with mainland China dates beginning this October.
Jackson Wang rose to international prominence after launching his solo career with “Papillon” in 2017, following his success as a member of K-pop group GOT7.
His debut album MIRRORS became the first album by a solo Chinese artist to enter the Billboard 200, while songs including “100 Ways” and “LMLY” further expanded his global reach.
Jackson has collaborated with international artists including Ciara, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, Galantis, Gucci Mane, Joji and GoldLink, blending influences from Eastern and Western music scenes.
In 2022, he released his second studio album MAGIC MAN and launched his first solo world tour, performing across 24 cities on four continents.
He later made history at Coachella as the first Chinese solo artist to perform on the festival’s main stage, returning for three consecutive editions and bringing out Ciara as a surprise guest for their collaboration “Slow”.
His third album, MAGIC MAN 2, released in 2025, debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and led to another world tour featuring sold-out shows in venues including Kia Forum and Barclays Center. – September 23, 2026
