KUALA LUMPUR — Bollywood star Tamannaah Bhatia has praised her Johor fans as “beautiful people” after hundreds braved the sweltering heat and waited for hours to catch a glimpse of the Indian actress.
Tamannaah, who arrived in Malaysia from Mumbai last night, said she had been overwhelmed by the warmth she received from Malaysians since landing in the country.
“The people of Johor are beautiful people. From the time I arrived last night, I have been treated with so much love,” she said at an event here today.
The actress was in Johor Baru to officiate the launch of a diamond collections at a jewelry store along Jalan Segget, in an event hosted by television personality Kiki Vijay.
The massive turnout was evident long before her arrival, with hundreds of fans gathering along Jalan Segget from as early as 10am despite the afternoon heat.
Many waited for almost five hours before Tamannaah arrived at 2.50pm, dressed in a pink saree.
Rather than heading straight to the stage, Tamannaah made her way towards the barricades to meet the waiting crowd, posing for selfies, holding hands and exchanging words with fans.
“I am so happy to see everyone still here and in such high energy despite this afternoon heat,” she said.
She also praised the warm reception extended by the jewellery store’s staff, saying it reflected the hospitality she had experienced since arriving in Malaysia.
“Just like the hospitality I received from Malaysians, the sales team here gave me the same warm welcome. Wherever you go, a store’s sales team are the most important people,” she said.
Tamannaah also spoke about her latest Hindi film, The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, which opened in cinemas yesterday and draws on Bihari culture and folklore.
“India as a country has so much culture, and in this film we showed our culture. It is very exciting to celebrate it with all of you here, who also have so much respect for Indian culture,” she said.
Before leaving the stage, Tamannaah blew kisses to the crowd and thanked her Malaysian fans for their continued support.
“Big love, big kisses. Thank you for all your support always and thank you for being here today. Love you guys,” she said.
Tamannaah, who made her acting debut in 2005, has appeared in more than 80 films across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema, with the Baahubali franchise helping establish her as one of India’s best-known film stars. – September 26, 2026
