KUALA LUMPUR — Former Negeri Sembilan state executive councillors (exco) have been instructed to return official state government vehicles, one of them, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, said.
The former state industrial, technology, innovation and digital affairs committee chairman said the excos were instructed to do so in a letter by the State Secretary today.
All of them have complied with the instruction, Asna said in Seremban today, Bernama reports.
He and other former expos had given their statements to a team of police officers from Bukit Aman at the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council building in Seremban earlier today.
“I was no longer using the official vehicle, but I received a letter earlier today asking us to return the vehicles, so we had to remove all our belongings,” he said.
The ten Negeri Sembilan excos had their appointments revoked on September 20 by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. The decree was gazetted on September 24.
In events leading to their dismissal, the excos had endorsed an April proclamation by the state’s customary chieftains (Undang Yang Empat) to depose Tuanku Muhriz from the throne. State Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim had also signed the exco’s endorsement of the proclamation.
This led to the Attorney-General’s Chambers to state that Ismal as Menteri Besar and the state Exco had no unilateral power to terminate or vacate the position of the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Tuanku Muhriz then ordered the dismissal of the ten excos, which Ismail refuted.
Ismail then suspended the state secretary and legal adviser, but this was declared beyond his powers and unlawful by the Attorney-General’s Chambers, which said such appointment matters were determined by the federal authorities—namely the Public Services Commission and the Judicial and Legal Services Commission.
Police are currently investigating the administrative turmoil involving the royal institution in the state and today took statements from the ten former exco members.
Asna told reporters he and the other former excos were giving their full cooperation to the police.
The former excos today gave their statements separately from around 11am until 2pm.
Besides Asna, the other former state excos are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Datuk Razali Abu Samah and Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa. – September 28, 2026
