KUALA LUMPUR — Businessman Datuk Seri Farhash Wafa Salvador and Human Resources Minister Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan were among 779 recipients conferred Kelantan state awards and titles in conjunction with the 57th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, today.
Farhash, who is chairman of Apex Equity Berhad, was the sole recipient of the Darjah Pahlawan Yang Amat Gagah Perkasa (PYGP), one of the state’s highest honours.
Ramanan, who is also Sungai Buloh MP and PKR vice-president, made history after receiving the First Class (Seri Paduka) of the Most Distinguished Order of the Life of the Crown of Kelantan (S.J.M.K.), which carries the title Datuk.
His conferment marked a milestone as he became the first individual from the Indian community to receive the S.J.M.K. since the order was established in 1925.
Membership of the S.J.M.K. is limited to 50 recipients.
Expressing his gratitude to Sultan Muhammad V, Ramanan said the honour represented a responsibility and trust to continue strengthening his service to the Sultan, the people and the nation.
Also conferred the S.J.M.K. were Datuk Razali Daud, Datuk Rosnazli Hj Amin, Datuk Daniyar Kessikbayev, Datuk Leon Emil Le’mercier, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Datuk Mohd Khidir Yaacob.
Among other recipients honoured with state awards were former Chief of Defence Force General (Rtd) Tan Sri Datuk Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, current Chief of Defence Force General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Pahlawan Haji Malek Razak Sulaiman, Chief of Army General Tan Sri Datuk’ Sri Azhan Md Othman and Deputy Secretary-General of Treasury (Management) Datuk Sri Ab Rahim Ab Rahman.
They received the S.P.K.K. and S.P.S.K. honours. – September 29, 2026
