KUALA LUMPUR – The government has allocated RM730 million for preparations for the 2027 SEA Games and Asean Para Games, as well as national sports development, under Budget 2027.

Tabling the budget in the Dewan Rakyat today, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said RM240 million would be allocated for preparations to host both Games.

Another RM460 million would go towards high-performance sports programmes, the Road to Gold initiative, para athletes, deaf sports and the maintenance of sports facilities nationwide.

The government has also allocated RM30 million for a sports matching grant to encourage sports associations, clubs and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to organise high-performance sporting events.
