Budget 2027: 1.3mil civil servants to receive RM1,500, retirees RM750

Minimum monthly pension to rise to RM1,350, while allocation for civil servants’ quarters increases to RM2.3 billion

KUALA LUMPUR – The government will provide RM1,500 to 1.3 million civil servants in Grade Utama B and below, including those on contract appointments, under two separate payments.

More than one million government retirees, including pensionable and non-pensionable veterans, will receive RM750, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced when tabling Budget 2027 at the Dewan Negara today.

Anwar also announced that the minimum monthly pension would be raised from RM1,000 to RM1,350, benefiting nearly 59,000 retirees, Malaysian Armed Forces veterans and recipients of derivative pensions.

Meanwhile, the government will increase its allocation for the construction and maintenance of civil servants’ quarters to RM2.3 billion.

The allocation will cover housing for public servants across various sectors, including police personnel, doctors, military personnel, teachers and firefighters.

The government will also raise the hourly allowances for volunteers serving with the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), auxiliary firefighters, police volunteers and civil defence volunteers to RM9.

Supervisors in these volunteer services will receive RM10.80 an hour. – October 9, 2026
