KUALA LUMPUR – A 37-year-old man was hauled to the Magistrate’s Court in Seremban today, charged with the murder of his wife—an enforcement officer with the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS)—at the KLIA civil servants’ housing quarters earlier this month.

The accused, Mohd Khairudin Safi’ai, merely nodded to signal he understood the capital charge after it was read out before Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli.

No plea was taken from him as murder trials fall strictly within the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Mohd Khairudin is accused of murdering Norhazwani Ibrahim, 35, at a residential unit inside the KLIA Civil Servants’ Housing Complex in Nilai at around 7 pm on Oct 15.

The charge is framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death penalty or a prison term between 30 and 40 years, along with not less than 12 strokes of the cane if capital punishment is not handed down upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Farah Wahidah Mohd Sharip appeared for the prosecution, while the accused stood unrepresented in the dock.

The court set Dec 22 for case mention pending the completion of forensic and post-mortem documents before transferring the case to the High Court. – October 26, 2026
