KUALA LUMPUR — Umno has officially declared “mission accomplished” on its high-profile crowdfunding campaign for Datuk Seri Najib Razak, confirming that all required payments have been formally handed over to the Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning.

The announcement marks the immediate shutdown of the dedicated Tabung Solidariti Najib Razak account, with party leadership stating that no further public donations are required.

In a statement issued today, Umno Secretary-General Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki revealed that the emergency fund—first rolled out on September 18 to support the incarcerated former prime minister—has fully achieved its target.

“Umno wishes to announce that the total funds collected through the Tabung Solidariti Najib Razak… have reached their target and are now sufficient,” Asyraf said.

“Umno has settled the entire payment process with the Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning. With this, Umno officially closes the special account established to receive public contributions, and there is no longer any need for crowdfunding for this purpose,” he added.

Meanwhile, Najib’s lawyer, Muhammad Farhan Shafee, confirmed that the former prime minister has fully settled the RM50 million fine imposed on him in the SRC International Sdn Bhd misappropriation case at the High Court Registry here today.

“Yes, it has been paid,” he said briefly.

Earlier, Muhammad Farhan arrived at the courthouse at around 11.30 am carrying a locked black bag to execute the payment process and complete the necessary administrative procedures before the transaction was finalised.

He added that his legal team is currently awaiting the formal detention release order, which will be served to the Malaysian Prisons Department.

The payment fulfills one of the conditional pardon terms granted by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on September 18, which allows Najib to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest until August 23, 2028.

The decision was reached during the 64th Pardons Board Meeting for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya held at Istana Negara.

The development arrives amidst electric anticipation surrounding Najib’s legal standing and widespread speculation regarding a potential transfer to house arrest, which gained rapid traction this morning following tightened security outside his private residence.

Extending the party’s gratitude to loyalists across the country, Asyraf offered prayers of thanks and lauded the relentless support shown by party members and members of the public who stepped forward with contributions from day one.

“This overwhelming response shows the unbreakable bond and unwavering loyalty that our grassroots and the general public still hold for Datuk Seri Najib,” an Umno official noted in support of the move.

“The completion of this court settlement is a crucial step forward, and it would not have been possible without the collective solidarity of Malaysians who stood by him throughout this ordeal.”

With the court payment now settled in full, focus turns squarely on the legal mechanisms that may follow for the former premier. – November 6, 2026
