KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will continue performing his duties as usual until informed otherwise.
Datuk Rosal Azimin Ahmad, who is representing Mohd Shuhaily, said any decision regarding the AKPS director-general’s position would be subject to administrative procedures and the relevant provisions of the Home Ministry (KDN) or the Public Service Department (JPA).
“As a civil servant, I believe he will continue to perform his duties until informed otherwise by the KDN, JPA or the relevant authorities, in accordance with the usual civil service procedures.
“But for now, without any instruction to the contrary, he will continue to work as usual,’’ Bernama reported.

Earlier, Mohd Shuhaily was charged at the Magistrate’s Court here today with two counts of causing injury to two police personnel.
The charges were brought under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to one year’s imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both upon conviction.
Meanwhile, Rosal said Mohd Shuhaily had completed the bail process, with bail set at RM1,500 for each charge, and the case would be mentioned again at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court on Nov 25.
“We cannot say much about the case. It is a court process. I hope everyone will refrain from commenting unnecessarily. It is based on the principle of innocent until proven guilty,” he said.
Asked about Mohd Shuhaily’s current condition, he said his client was doing well and remained positive about going through the legal process.
“As he put it, ‘If this is the price I have to pay, then I’ll pay. Then let’s go with it.’ That is his attitude. But he is not blaming anyone,” he said. – October 21, 2026
