KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) has been named one of the 25 distinguished winners of the prestigious Steward Leadership 25 (SL25) Awards 2025, recognised for its proprietary modular construction technology, the MRCB Building System (MBS).
In a statement, the company said the MRCB Building System was shortlisted from applications spanning 25 industries and 27 countries.
The modular method involves constructing the majority of a building off-site in a controlled fabrication facility before installation on-site, enhancing construction speed, consistency, safety, and quality.
According to MRCB, the system also minimises waste sent to landfills, significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and aligns with five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Now in its fourth year, the SL25 Awards is an independent annual recognition jointly curated by the Stewardship Asia Centre (SAC), the INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, Willis Towers Watson, and The Straits Times.
SAC, a Singapore-based non-profit organisation established by Temasek Holdings under Temasek Trust, promotes stewardship across Asia.
Guided by Temasek’s ethos to “do well, do right and do good,” SAC champions leadership that integrates the needs of stakeholders, society, future generations, and the environment.
Each year, the award recognises 25 international projects that embody steward leadership excellence, forming an integral part of an organisation’s core strategy while delivering meaningful impact to stakeholders, society, and the environment.
