KUALA LUMPUR – ZICO Trust (M) Bhd has appointed former Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mazlan Lazim as its chairman, effective August 14, 2026.

ZICO Trust said the appointment forms part of the company’s continued focus on strengthening board stewardship and institutional oversight to support its long-term development as a provider of bespoke trust and fiduciary services.

Managing director Jeevan M. Sundaram said Mazlan’s experience in leading and overseeing complex institutions — where accountability, sound judgement and responsible stewardship are fundamental — will provide valuable insight to ZICO Trust.

“That breadth of experience, spanning both public service and corporate boards, will bring an important perspective to ZICO Trust as we continue strengthening our governance and building the institution for the long term,” he said in a statement.

Mazlan, who holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia, served with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for more than 40 years, culminating in his appointment as Deputy IGP in June 2021.

The Kuala Kedah-born, Mazlan has also served as Kelantan Police chief, Prime Minister’s Department Protection Division director-general and Kuala Lumpur Police chief.

Following his retirement from PDRM, Mazlan continued his leadership roles in the corporate sector, including as independent non-executive chairman of Computer Forms (Malaysia) Bhd, chairman of PBLT Sdn Bhd and deputy chairman of Rapid Synergy Bhd. – August 28, 2026
