KUALA LUMPUR — M Rail Technics Sdn. Bhd. (RAILTEC), a subsidiary of Destini Berhad, is marking its territory as a major player in the rail industry with the signing of six Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)s at the Transport Expo (TXA) 2026 here on Wednesday.

The company said the MOUs reflect RAILTEC’s continued efforts to enhance its railway Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities, strengthen technical expertise, develop future railway talent and uphold high standards of safety, quality and operational excellence.

A key highlight of RAILTEC’s participation is its strategic collaboration with Siemens Mobility Sdn Bhd, which establishes a framework to explore cooperation supporting RAILTEC’s development as a digitally enabled railway MRO service provider in Malaysia.

The collaboration will explore areas including digital railway technologies, data-driven maintenance practices, competency development and training, technical advisory support, as well as initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reliability, safety, sustainability and asset lifecycle performance.

RAILTEC is also collaborating with ZF Sales and Service (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to explore opportunities in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of ZF rail dampers, alongside technical training and technical advisory support.

These collaborations underscore RAILTEC’s efforts to expand its technical capabilities and establish stronger industry partnerships in support of Malaysia’s evolving railway maintenance and engineering requirements.

Beyond technical and industry collaborations, RAILTEC is also strengthening its contribution to railway talent development through partnerships with education and training institutions.

Wednesday’s MOU signings included collaborations with Kolej Komuniti Masjid Tanah (KKMT), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), ADTEC-JTM Kampus Kuantan and Universiti Kolej Yayasan Pahang (UCYP).

The initiatives cover areas including Industry on Campus programmes, academic and research cooperation, technical training, competency development, student exposure and industry-aligned learning.

Through these partnerships, RAILTEC aims to strengthen industry-academia linkages while providing students and trainees with greater exposure to practical skills and competencies aligned with the current and future requirements of the railway industry.

The collaborations also support the development of a skilled railway workforce and contribute towards strengthening Malaysia’s technical and vocational talent pipeline.

Meanwhile, RAILTEC is also celebrating two significant corporate milestones — achieving One Million Safe Man-Hours Without Lost Time Injury (LTI) and attaining IRIS Certification.

The One Million Safe Man-Hours milestone reflects the collective commitment of RAILTEC employees towards maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to established procedures and promoting a proactive safety culture across its operations, the company said.

Meanwhile, the attainment of IRIS Certification marks an important step in RAILTEC’s efforts to strengthen its management systems, enhance process consistency and align its practices with internationally recognised railway industry requirements.

RAILTEC CEO IR. TS. Dr Ahmad Sayufei Zainuddin said the initiatives and milestones being showcased  at TXA 2026 represent an important step forward in RAILTEC’s journey to strengthen its capabilities and contribution to Malaysia’s railway industry.

“Our collaborations with industry leaders, education institutions and technical training providers reflect our commitment to building a stronger railway ecosystem, while our safety and IRIS Certification milestones demonstrate the standards we strive to uphold across our operations.”

“Moving forward, RAILTEC will continue to pursue strategic partnerships, strengthen technical capabilities and invest in talent development to support a safer, more reliable and sustainable railway ecosystem in Malaysia.” – October 22, 2026
