Anwar casts his ballot in Permatang Pasir

BUKIT MERTAJAM – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has cast his vote for the Permatang Pasir state legislative assembly at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Penanti at 9:41am this morning.

Accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who also cast her vote at the same school, Anwar was seen donning a blue shirt and a bow tie.

Arriving at 9:30am, Anwar and Wan Azizah were greeted by Penang police chief Datuk Khaw Kok Chin and Seberang Perai Central District police chief assistant Tean Cheng San.

Following the casting of ballots, Anwar shook hands and posed for photographs with voters present at the polling station.

The Permatang Pasir seat is seeing a straight fight between incumbent Muhammad Faiz Fadzil from Amanah and Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Amir Hamzah Abdul Hashim.

The Permatang Pasir state assembly is one of three state assemblies falling under the Permatang Pauh Parliament, along with Seberang Jaya and Penanti. – August 12, 2023
