Wahab sends letters of demand to govt, Chegubard, alleged ‘Mr H’

KUALA LUMPUR – Community Communications Department (J-Kom) assistant officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani has commenced legal action against several parties, including the Malaysian government.

Wahab’s lawyer, Faizal Rahman, confirmed that letters of demand have been sent out to three parties – the government, Bersatu information committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, and J-Kom division director Hakim Ramlee.

“We’ve received instructions from (Wahab) to issue a letter of demand to the parties…to initiate legal action,” Faizal said in a message to Scoop.

Scoop has reached out to Badrul and Hakim for comments on the matter.

Wahab had previously been embroiled in controversy after an indecent video supposedly featuring him and former J-Kom director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff made the rounds on social media.

In a joint press conference on November 17, Agus and Wahab admitted to having a video call but said the audio in the viral clip was doctored to make it sound like a lewd conversation.

The duo also said a “Mr H” who worked in J-Kom was behind the clip meant to tarnish Agus, and was the one who instructed Wahab, who is also Hulu Langat PKR Youth vice-chairman, to record the call for the purpose of entrapment.

Previously, Hakim, who is director of the J-Kom education and training division, had denied blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin’s claims that he was “Mr H”, labelling the allegation as malicious and random.

Following an investigation, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the individual known as “Mr H” had come forward to provide his statement to police.

However, last week, in a surprising twist, police said they are now investigating Agus over allegations of sexual harassment against Wahab after the latter lodged a report on the matter.

Subsequently, police said they will be re-submitting to the Attorney-General’s Chambers their investigation papers on the lewd video once details on Wahab’s allegations are obtained.

The claim is being investigated under Penal Code provisions – Section 354 on assault or use of criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty as well as Section 377D on gross indecency. – December 8, 2023
