PETALING JAYA – The police’s forensic unit and Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin’s parents were seen leaving Idaman Apartments separately at about 5pm today.

They arrived at the scene earlier at about 4.20pm, and headed straight to Zayn Rayyan’s house that is located at Level 2 in Block R of the residency.

Members of the media were cordoned off from the level while they were inspecting the unit.

However, there was neither any update on the ongoing investigation progress nor any information verifying if the forensic unit had seized anything from Zayn Rayyan’s apartment unit.

Earlier, the unit had been deployed here with the police’s K9 detection unit where two K9 dogs, Ricks and Gucci, were deployed to do house-to-house search.

They also inspected a store room located nearby Block R for almost two hours between 12pm to 2pm.

The police are continuing their murder investigation of 6-year-old autistic boy, Zayn Rayyan, whose body was found near a river bank near his house on Wednesday night.

They subsequently reclassified his death as murder after post-mortem showed injuries indicating asphyxiation, among others. – December 10, 2023
