Tragic crash: lorry driver killed in six-vehicle pile-up on North-South Expressway

KUALA LUMPUR – A fatal road accident involving six vehicles along the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near Sg Buloh has led to the death of a lorry driver in his 30s this evening. 

An initial report by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre said that the accident on KM457.0 of the highway involved a trailer lorry carrying cement slabs, a container lorry, and four other cars. 

The department said the accident occurred in the southbound direction of the highway.

“The trailer lorry driver remains trapped and is in the process of being evacuated by fire and rescue personnel,” the report read. 

It also said that a man in his 20s suffered light injuries from the crash. 

The centre had received a call regarding the accident at 9.58pm.

Meanwhile, in a traffic update at 10.53pm on its official social media account, PLUS said that two lanes remain obstructed due to the accident. – December 13, 2023
