Blogger’s lawyer says he was arrested at 11pm last night, will be remanded this morning

KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested blogger Salim Iskandar as part of an investigation into an alleged post about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Salim confirmed his arrest on his official X account last night.

“I have been arrested by police and taken to the Dang Wangi police station. Continue the struggle, Malaysians!” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Salim’s lawyer, Rafique Rashid, said he was apprehended at 11pm yesterday and will be remanded this morning.

“The arrest was made in response to a police report regarding a post on X about the prime minister,” said the lawyer. – December 15, 2023
