KUALA LUMPUR – Three individuals, comprising a 32-year-old father with the moniker “Hot Daddy” and his two girlfriends, have been charged at the sessions court here for engaging in online prostitution advertising.
According to the charge sheet, Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, along with Norhidayah Mahadi, 24, and Norshazrina Md Zamri, 27, were jointly charged with promoting prostitution services on X under the @HOTDADDYYXX profile.
The alleged offence occurred when the advertisements were discovered at the Bukit Aman Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) office at 10.01am on January 16.
The trio is accused of violating Section 372 (1)(e) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years, along with the possibility of caning and fines upon conviction.
During the proceedings, the trio simply responded with “understand” and “not guilty” before judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.
Deputy public prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latif proposed a bail amount of RM20,000 for each of the accused, suggesting discretion from the court, although he had initially argued against any bail.
However, the defence, represented by lawyer Mohd Faris Abrar Othman, pleaded for a minimal bail amount. Hasli’s situation was highlighted, as he is responsible for his 67-year-old father and three children aged 12, 10, and 4.
Norshazrina, who earns a monthly salary of RM4,000 as a manager, supports her 56-year-old mother, while Norhidayah has no fixed income.
The judge subsequently set bail at RM10,000 for each accused and scheduled a mention for February 28.
Earlier reports said that the police had uncovered a sexual crime involving a “gigolo” who recorded and sold pornographic videos featuring encounters with over 20 women, including those who hired his services.
The suspect had been distributing these videos on social media since July last year and was arrested in Janda Baik, Pahang, at about 2.30pm by the D7 unit of the Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman.
In the same operation, two of the suspect’s girlfriends, aged 24 and 27, who were also implicated in the explicit videos, were arrested.
Additionally, the suspect’s father, residing in the same house, was taken into custody. – January 26, 2024
