No casualties as express bus catches fire near Sg Besi toll plaza

KUALA LUMPUR – An express bus caught fire near the Sg Besi toll plaza in Taman Serdang Raya, Kuala Lumpur today. 

The Serdang Fire and Rescue Department responded to a distress call at 1.48pm. Upon reaching the scene, they found the bus extensively damaged, with approximately 90% of the vehicle affected by the fire.

The Fire Department’s operations officer Muhammad A. Kadir said the bus was carrying a total of 12 male and 11 female passengers, including the bus driver.

However, there were no reported victims in this incident.

He said the fire not only engulfed the bus but also impacted the roof of a nearby resting hut where the bus was parked. – February 2, 2024
