Worker finds decomposed body floating at Sg Sian, Sibu

Police say there is a missing person report in area but remains have not been identified due to its condition

SIBU – A decomposed body, with the lower half missing, was found floating at Sg Sian here yesterday.

Meradong police chief Sekam Anoi said the authorities received a report on the discovery of the body from a worker at Sg Sian Ferry around 10am today and went to the location to investigate.

Based on investigations, there was a report of a missing person in Sibu before.

However, the police failed to identify the remains as it has decomposed.

“The police will continue with the investigation by using DNA samples to determine its identity. Members of the public are urged not to speculate on the case,” he said. – February 17, 2024
