State rulers attend 265th Conference of Rulers meeting, chaired by Selangor sultan

Two-day meeting held at Istana Negara begins today with MBs, CMs, Sarawak’s deputy premier also in attendance

KUALA LUMPUR – Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today chaired the 265th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara here. 

The previous 264th (special) meeting of the Conference of Rulers was held on January 31 in conjunction with the swearing-in ceremony of the 17th King of Malaysia. 

The two-day meeting was attended by Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Sultan of Kedah Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah and the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. 

Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Perlis Regent Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail; and the Kelantan Crown Prince Tengku Muhammad Fakhry also attended the meeting.  

Also present were Yang di-Pertua Negeri Penang Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.  

At the meeting, the rulers were accompanied by their respective menteri besar, the governors by their chief ministers while Sarawak was accompanied by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. – February 21, 2024
