SANDAKAN – Labuan Health Department’s food safety and quality unit (BKKM) has issued a warning advising against purchasing beverages served from pitchers containing condensed milk cans at Ramadan bazaars in the territory.

On its official Facebook page today, the unit said that it had discovered two stalls at the Ramadan bazaar in Labuan placing steel cans inside the drink containers.

“Do not put these cans inside the drink containers. This practice will contaminate the drinks with bacteria.

“Don’t let this become a trend. The BKKM has discovered two stalls at the Ramadan bazaar in Labuan engaging in this action. We will not hesitate to take action against hawkers if this continues,” they warned. – March 16, 2024
