KUALA LUMPUR – The Putrajaya IOI City Mall is facing a blackout due to a power outage today.

In a Facebook post, the mall’s management said Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is currently rectifying the issue.

“As such, the mall is closed this morning until power supply resumes, which is expected to be between 1pm and 5pm today.

“Stay tuned for our updates and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it said.

A video posted on social media platform X by user @Ieqa_AkmaL showed mall-goers experiencing the blackout this morning.

It is believed that the outage occurred at 12.45am early this morning due to a power disruption at the TNB plant, which supplies power to the mall.

“The mall is currently closed to the public. Only vendors are allowed in the mall at the moment.

“Once power is restored, it will be open to the public as usual,” a mall spokesman said.

Meanwhile, TNB confirmed that the power disruption was caused by a faulty incoming cable located 2km away from the property. – March 28, 2024
