Thunderstorms to hit KL, Selangor west coast this evening: MetMalaysia

Meteorological Dept warns of heavy rain until around 6pm in various areas

KUALA LUMPUR – Thunderstorms are expected along the west coast this evening in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor, as well as Sarawak.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory at 3.10pm, said storms are expected to hit Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Kuala Langat in Selangor.

The capital city will also be affected, according to the advisory, which also warned of heavy rain until around 6pm today.

In Perak, Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Peak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim will be affected.

In Johor, the affected areas are Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Pontian.

In Sarawak, parts of Miri and Limbang are also expected to receive heavy rain and thunderstorms. – April 13, 2024
