Major roads in and around KL gridlocked amid rising floodwaters

Typical rush hour traffic made worse by seemingly ceaseless rainfall

7:12 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic in and around Jalan Parlimen here is at a gridlock after two vehicles broke down when they attempted to go through the floodwaters.

Congestion is especially bad near the Dato Onn roundabout heading to the Sultan Iskandar Highway as the left lane is obstructed.

Meanwhile, Kepong is also flooded due to a downpour this afternoon.

As of 8.11pm, traffic is still slow from the city centre heading to Segambut, Kepong and Batu Caves.

Earlier today, METMalaysia issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat), Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, among others. – April 18, 2024
