Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has reportedly said that the weather forecast for Borneo shows the ash cloud from Mount Ruang’s eruption to be clearing from Sarawak skies.

CAAM chief executive Datuk Norazman Mahmud said certain flights had resumed from about 7pm, and air traffic controllers had been ordered to extend operating hours to handle reinstated flights, according to Free Malaysia Today.

Volcanic ash clouds were expected to clear from Borneo airspace starting 10pm tonight, he added. – April 18, 2024
