PUTRAJAYA – Those who are eligible for the government’s diesel subsidy will have to input their details into the Budi Madani programme, regardless of the status of their Central Database Hub (Padu) accounts, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
The minister, who is also the government’s spokesperson, has said the Budi Madani initiative is not meant to act as an “alternative” for those who might have missed the Padu registration deadline on March 31.
“Budi Madani must be filled in by all individuals who are eligible for diesel subsidies even if they have registered on Padu.”
Addressing a post-cabinet press conference, here today, Fahmi said that the matter was not specifically discussed during today’s cabinet meeting.
However, he has said the finance minister is expected to hold a session with news editors soon to explain details regarding the Budi Madani initiative. – May 29, 2024
