Three injured after ambulance crashes into ditch

Two men seriously hurt, one woman sustains minor injuries after accident near Kamunting Toll Plaza

KUALA LUMPUR – An ambulance crashed into a ditch near the Kamunting Toll Plaza in Perak early this morning, causing serious injuries to two men inside.

The Fire and Rescue Department on Facebook said the ambulance was headed to Taman Berkat, Kamunting, when it drove into the ditch. An emergency call was made at around 3.30am.

The ambulance, from Parit Buntar Hospital, had four people inside and one of them was removed by members of the public.

A team of eight personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department removed the other victims, an adult woman who sustained minor injuries, and two men who were more seriously injured.

The rescue operation was completed at 4.20am and the victims were brought to Taiping Hospital for immediate treatment. – July 9, 2024
