Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT resumes operations after five hours following small track fire

KUALA LUMPUR – The Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT line resumed operations some five hours after a small fire broke out on the tracks near the PWTC LRT station at 9.58am. 

Train operator Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said repairs on the track have been completed and train service was back by 2.46pm.

In its latest update, alternative train and shuttle bus services were terminated while the travel schedule had been regulated.

Earlier, a video of the fire, which started as a spark, made the rounds on social media.

Initial investigations by Rapid Rail found that the fire was a result of a technical fault related to a small component along the track.

Police, and fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene at 10.15am to help with crowd control and monitoring. – August 4, 2024
