KUALA LUMPUR – The residents of 20 houses at Jalan E6 in Taman Melawati, Ampang have been told to evacuate following a landslide in the area today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said that information regarding the incident will be updated from time to time.

He confirmed that police issued the evacuation order to those affected.

The landslide, caused by non-stop heavy rain in the area since early morning, was caught on several videos which went viral on social media, showing the disaster taking place near a residential area.

Strong water currents were also seen to be uprooting trees and damaging vehicles in the area.
