KUALA LUMPUR – The coffee chain Kopi Saigon has denied any connection to Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad, and has emphasised that it has no affiliation with any political party in Malaysia.
In a statement, Kopi Saigon clarified that its brand is intended to cater to people from all walks of life, regardless of political beliefs.
Furthermore, it stated that the recent visit by the PAS MP to one of its outlets in Penaga, Penang, was undertaken independently without any official invitation.
“No payment or compensation of any kind was provided by Kopi Saigon.
“The content shared on her social media account was also her own initiative to promote local businesses in the Kepala Batas constituency,” it said today.
Recently, an individual on the social media platform X alleged that Siti Mastura received a 50% commission from every Kopi Saigon branch following her posting of a video at one of its outlets, where she was seen mingling with patrons.
In response, Kopi Saigon revealed that Siti Mastura has since removed the content from her social media account to avoid any potential misunderstandings or confusion among the public.
Additionally, Kopi Saigon has requested that the X account owner who made the accusations delete the post.
“We have asked the account owner to take down the post to avoid any legal action being taken to protect Kopi Saigon’s reputation,” it said. – December 8, 2024
