KUALA LUMPUR – The police have completed their investigation paper regarding a criminal intimidation case involving the child of a minister, which has been making rounds on social media since Wednesday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the investigation was submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday for further action under existing legal provisions, Sinar Harian reported.

“This action clearly demonstrates that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) does not compromise or offer protection to any individual involved in wrongdoing,” he told the daily.

Razarudin added that statements from all parties linked to the case had been recorded.

“The investigation paper was referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, following a police report lodged by the complainant on January 1.

“At present, the prosecution has instructed the investigating officer to obtain a medical report concerning the woman who was allegedly intimidated by the minister’s child,” he said.

He also noted that initial investigations revealed the minister’s child is reported to have married the woman involved.

“We are currently awaiting confirmation of their marriage certificate to assist with the investigation.

“I want to emphasise that the police will not protect anyone found guilty of any offence, even if it involves ministers or their family members.

“The investigation is transparent, and the police will bring those responsible to justice,” he added.

Earlier, a case involving a minister’s child allegedly threatening a woman who had asked him to take responsibility for her seven-week pregnancy went viral on Telegram.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code. – January 9, 2025
