KUALA LUMPUR – The National Press Club Malaysia (NPC) is hosting the highly anticipated second edition of ‘Jom Jalan with NPC’ on May 24, 2025, at Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur.
The event, jointly organised with the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA), promises an exhilarating experience for all participants.
The event features two main categories – a competitive 10km walk and a 5km fun walk. The 10km race will include several sub-categories: Open Men’s, Open Women’s, Boys’ and Girls’ (aged 13-17), and a Veterans’ Category (aged 40 and above). Meanwhile, the fun walk is open to all participants.
The initiative aims to promote walking as a healthy lifestyle choice while also identifying new talent, particularly among young walkers.
NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan has encouraged media practitioners to participate.
“I would like to invite journalists to walk with us. This is a platform that will allow us to display our solidarity in the industry,” he said.
He added that ‘Jom Jalan with NPC 2025’ serves as a unifying event for Malaysians.
“We need to walk together as a nation. It is at such events that we all come together to achieve several goals – to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through walking and to remind us that we, Malaysians, are one big happy family,” he said.
The inaugural edition last year attracted over 300 participants from diverse backgrounds.
