KOTA BHARU – Incumbent and candidate for PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli is confident that digital platforms can effectively deliver the party’s message to grassroots members and representatives, despite the campaign period lasting only about a week.
Rafizi said PKR’s strong presence on social media has long been an advantage in reaching not only party members at the grassroots, but also broader supporters of the party’s cause.
“Every night, over 20,000 views are recorded for the virtual campaign sessions. This is not an election season, just a party election, yet this response shows that our message is getting through.
“What is important is that the message resonates with the core base of PKR ordinary members, representatives, and the people who support us,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after a stop on the Hiruk tour in Kelantan and Terengganu, held at the National Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN) Complex in Tanjong Chat here last night.
On the PKR Discipline Board’s statement urging all candidates and their supporters to refrain from personal attacks, Rafizi said this should be taken in good faith by all parties.
He added that any alleged breaches of discipline should be reported through the proper channels and investigated fairly by the board.
Also present was Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
The PKR deputy president’s post will be contested one-on-one between Rafizi and Nurul Izzah, while party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains unchallenged.
The PKR National Congress, including the Youth and Women’s Congress, is set to take place from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru, with elections for the central leadership scheduled on May 23. – May 17, 2025
