KUALA LUMPUR – Police are on a manhunt for suspects involved in the murder of a college student in Cyberjaya earlier today.
According to Sepang police, the victim was a 20-year-old local woman, with the incident taking place at the Mutiara Ville condominium in Cyberjaya.
Speaking to Scoop, Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said the crime occurred in the morning, based on information received.
“The case happened today, and we are close to making arrests. The victim is a local.”
Initial investigations revealed that there were no CCTV cameras installed along the condominium corridors, while the CCTV in the lift was found to be faulty and inoperable.
Norhizam also confirmed that several items were missing from the victim, including cash, two bank cards, a laptop, and an Apple iPhone.
“Further updates will be provided from time to time. We also urge the public not to spread false information on social media and to assist us with any information relevant to the case,” he added.
It has been reported that Mutiara Ville, along with The Arc and Edusphere condominiums in Cyberjaya, have long been the subject of safety concerns, particularly for female university students.
In a separate incident in 2023, a university student was arrested for allegedly peeping into a unit occupied by local female students at Mutiara Ville. – June 25, 2025
