PASIR PUTEH — Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are in the final stages of negotiations ahead of the Sabah state election, said UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

He said discussions with all relevant parties were actively ongoing to ensure a united front for the polls.

“We’re in talks with everyone. Insya-Allah, discussions will continue. As the UMNO president (Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) has said, we’ve never completely shut the door — but we’ve not thrown it wide open either,” he told reporters after officiating the Pasir Puteh UMNO division delegates’ meeting today.

He was responding to questions on the direction of PH’s cooperation with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the upcoming state election.

The current Sabah state legislative assembly term is set to expire on November 11. — June 28, 2025
