Body of 17-year-old boy found in Putrajaya lake

Police classify case as sudden death after initial probe finds no signs of foul play

KUALA LUMPUR — The body of a 17-year-old boy was discovered floating in Putrajaya lake on this morning.

Putrajaya police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said members of the public spotted the body at about 7.50am.

“A witness, who was passing by the area, jumped into the lake and brought the body to the bank,” he said in a statement.

Police said initial investigations found no evidence of foul play, and the case has been classified as sudden death.

The body has been sent to Putrajaya Hospital for a post-mortem examination. — August 10, 2025
