Six arrested, knives seized after Old Klang Road nightclub brawl

Police said the suspects have been remanded for four days until August 21 to assist investigations under Sections 148 and 326 of the Penal Code

KUALA LUMPUR – Six men have been arrested after a violent clash involving weapons at a nightclub at Old Klang Road on Sunday.

Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood told Scoop the incident came to light after a 28-second video of the assault went viral on social media.

“We received the report at 9.33 am on Monday from a 29-year-old victim who claimed he was attacked by a group of unknown men while leaving the nightclub. He suffered injuries to his back,” he said when contacted.

He said six suspects, aged between 25 and 29, were arrested in a series of operations soon after the report was lodged.

“The suspects have been remanded for four days until August 21 to assist investigations under Sections 148 and 326 of the Penal Code.

“During the arrests, we also managed to confiscate several knives believed to have been used in the fight,” he added.

Ku Mashariman stressed that PDRM takes such incidents seriously and remains committed to maintaining public safety.
